Location
The location that I will be
photographing my model will be at my sister’s house. The reason I chose to take
the photos at my sister’s house is because she previously studied photography
at university and has professional equipment I can use, such as; white
background, studio lights, camera lenses, a tripod and a canon camera. Being
able to use all this equipment is extremely useful as it means my photos will
come out professional and to a high standard. My sister also has lots of
make-up at her house which is also useful. I decided I wanted a plain white
background instead of an outside background as I want my main front cover image
to have a solid background, similar to the CLASH magazines.
Props
I decided not to include any
props as I want the main focus to be completely on the model only and I thought
props would be distracting. By not having props makes the cover look less
crowded and busy, I want my magazine front cover to be quite minimal.
The outfit my model wears must
appeal to my target audience but relate to the colour scheme at the same time.
For this I want my model to wear something my target audience would also wear
such as, checked shirts, denim jacket, band t shirt, black ripped skinny jeans
and overall quite vintage and ‘indie’. I want the main focus of my model to be
the make-up. For this I want to create a bold and unique way of showing makeup
but in a creative style. By doing this it will attract attention and look
modern. A great example of a magazine using this type of make-up look for a
front cover is ‘i-D’ magazine.
