Original ideas statement

I am going to create an indie alternative/rock magazine similar to magazines such as NME, SPIN and CLASH. Most of my inspiration came from the magazine ‘CLASH’ because it has a very unique and stylish look to it which includes indie music. My music magazine will include things such as up and coming events/gigs, interviews with artists, gig guides, music gossip, new band reviews etc. Outside of music I will include iconic film reviews which will fit with my target audience and band clothing merchandise. By adding extra contents like this will make my magazine look more interesting for more people to read and buy. My target audience is 16-25 years-old for both males and females. Because of this I will include music which suits this age such as bands like Mooseblood, modern baseball, Gnarwolves and Tigers Jaw. I will also include single artists such as Jamie T, King Krule and Nick Mulvey. These bands and artists are all for a particular type of target audience who enjoy indie alternative music which isn’t as known as ‘Chart Music’. I have chosen this type of magazine because I feel it has a lot to offer and has some originality about it. I want my music magazine to be seen as stylish and modern but mature at the same time.
